Cargo Blu_Ray Makeup for High-Definition Filming

cargo_blu_ray

We've all seen broadcasters go from flawless on a traditional TV to a wrinkled mess on high-definition. HDTV is true to life, and that's why it looks amazing, unless it's revealing skin that was once softened on a regular television.

The answer, apart from a good plastic surgeon, may or may not lie in a new make-up marketed by Cargo as "Make-up developed for High-Definition filming." Called Blu-Ray, Cargo claims to have developed this make-up for HD filming environments but now is marketing it to you and me "Because Life happens in High-Definition." That's brilliant marketing. If the make-up is able to perfect people on high-definition television, it obviously can do it in real life. Right?  read more »

Sleek Leather Casing for the MacBook Air from Vaja

If I had a MacBook air, I'd be all over the i-volution Leather Suit, a fine-looking creamy-leather sleeve from Vaja. Just pop the computer into place, and you don't even have to remove the sleeve to use the computer. It has cutouts for the ports and looks to add very little bulk to the famously slim notebook.  read more »

Spotlight on Barry's Farm: Cute Stuff Made by Four Loving Hands in an Apartment!

I'm all about the ugly-is-cute philosophy. I go crazy over things like Ugly Dolls, Domo, and English Bulldogs. So when I saw Barry's Farm, I was really impressed with the cool merchandise they have.

From a furry Cookie Monster-esque laptop sleeve to a t-shirt of a marshmallow roasting a guy, the merchandise is fantastically unique and creative. On further investigation, though, I learned that there is way more to love about the operation than just the products.

According to their About page, Barry's Farm is a two-person operation (Katie and Barry), run out of an apartment in Illinois. Barry wanted to learn to screen print so he started selling his shirts online to pay for the equipment, and Katie added her sewing ability later when they began to sell laptop sleeves.  read more »

Pimp Your Pad with an Aviator-Glasses Lamp

I've never seen the attractiveness of aviator glasses on women, especially the ultra-masculine ones that beautiful people like Gwyneth Paltrow insist on wearing. But 40 aviator glasses as an artistic lamp is tres chic, and that's even before the lamp is turned on. When it's illuminated, the reflections create a very cool mirrored-ball effect that would create a glam ambience in the most modest of pads.  read more »

Nike iPod Sport Kit Carrying Case: Today's Woot!

I bought the Nike iPod Sports kit, and it's been the best 30 bucks I've ever spent. I love how it keeps track of everything I should know about my runs: time, distance, and calories burned, and it even motivates me along the way. My biggest gripe (albeit a small one) has been the pieces that make it work. Besides the sensor that gets attached to the shoe (or inserted if you have Nike shoes), a receiver is plugged into the iPod dock connector. I normally keep the receiver plugged in, but if I've just charged my iPod I sometimes forget to plug the receiver back in.  read more »

Where Handheld Game Consoles Go to Die

Purple Platform Gameboy Shoe
Photos by Syberpunk

Disposing of electronics has turned into a real fiasco with the onset of environmental guilt. Where once you may have hidden that old television set in your garbage, now you need to find a recycling center for it. And even that's not the end of it. You still have to worry about whether the junk is going to be shipped to China for some poor (literally) woman to breathe in its poisonous lead before the stuff gets chucked into the river.  read more »
